By entering your email address in the field provided below and then clicking on the "Join egroups" button, you will be taken to egroups and walked through the registration process. This will take less than five minutes. Be sure to follow through all the steps, including the selection of your option on how to receive messages for Lafayette.

You will receive an email titled "egroups confirm". You must read this email and follow the directions to confirm your desire to join. This is to keep someone else from signing you up without your knowledge.

After confirming your egroups registration, you will receive a second email welcoming you to the Lafayette egroups. When you get this, you are done!

How do I send an email to the list?

Send your email to Lafayette@egroups.com. You must be a member of the list in order to have egroups distribute it to the subscribers.

What is this?

Signing up for this email list will allow you to send and receive emails with others on the list. The list is a service to which an email is sent and then delivered to any that have signed up for it. You can sign up multiple times (home and work) and anyone else, such as family and neighbors, can sign up as well. You can also unsubscribe at any time, so you are not locked into anything.

How much will this service cost me?

This service is free. No salesman will visit your home.

Privacy

Unless you send an email to the list, only the list manager will ever see your email address. When an email is sent to the list, the sender cannot see who received the email. If you choose to send an email to the list, everyone will see who sent it.

When should I send an email to the list?

Please use this list with care. Do not use it for sending out jokes or to try and drum up business. Remember that EVERYONE on this list will receive what you send and that we don't want to lose anybody due to tiresome submissions. Please use it when you have a need to convey information that would be of interest to those at Lafayette. The usual rule of thumb for these lists, is to subscribe and watch the messages in order to get a feel for what is appropriate.

How do I reply to an email from the list?

You can use the standard "reply" option on your email, if you wish your reply to go to the entire list. If you only wish to reply to the sender, you will have to modify the "Lafayette@egroups.com" to the address of the sender.
