Sandy Hannes, 4th grade, Lafayette Elementary

Mrs. Hannes grew up on the Eastside and graduated from Bellevue High School.  She earned a B.A. in Education from Western Washington University and an M.Ed from the University of Washington.  In addition to classroom teaching she has worked as project coordinator of a program for deaf-blind teenagers at the Experimental Education Unit at the UW, and as an educator for parents of deaf infants and toddlers at both the EEU and the Hearing Speech and Deafness Center in Seattle.

Mrs. Hannes has taught at Lafayette since 1994.  When she is not at school she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
